Stof collage
In my recent exploration of the world of textiles, I have immersed myself in the development of entirely new fabric artworks. I have intentionally chosen to work with a monochromatic color palette. The idea behind these pieces is to create a visual symphony where colors harmonize and evoke a sense of cohesion.
My subjects are close-ups from nature, where I have focused on details that are often overlooked. These close-ups capture the beauty of nature in a unique way, providing a fresh perspective on the surrounding environment. I aimed to create something abstract yet recognizable, allowing viewers to let their imaginations soar while identifying elements from nature. There is substantial research indicating the healing properties of nature, so it was important for me to incorporate this element.
To tie the entire composition together, I have opted to frame each piece with a circular mat. The round form adds a particular dynamism and directs attention to the central motif. It also fosters a sense of unity among the works, as if they are part of a cohesive narrative. I hope these fabric artworks manage to convey a sense of aesthetics, wonder, and contemplation – an invitation to see the world through a new filter of colors, textures, and forms.
